The Fader Presidential Story, Part 2

Let’s get right into it.

Why “Fader Presidential”?

Sounds a bit stuffy or contrived, doesn’t it?

Well, truth be told, initially it was to billed as the Fader Ultimate. But Ron had other ideas.

Yeah, Ron again. Sometime I’ll tell you more about the mystery man, but for now let’s just say he’s a driving force behind the box!

In any case, Ron wanted his unit to be special in every way - and he wanted to call his unit the “Presidential.” I thought it sounded regal. Others in a composing forum wanted to know if we were going to be offering units for other offices of government, like Fader Vice Presidential lol.

Nope, just the one!

And as we discussed in part 1, the whole entire point of the Fader Presidential’s existence is to make a fader unit with the absolute best faders anywhere! (Hence why I was going to name it the Fader Ultimate!).

So let’s finish off this post with a short video showing how the TDK faders are made - rolled on the thighs of virgins at midnight on a full moon!

As you can see, there’s extreme dedication to technical excellence, and meticulous attention to detail. The whole point of the “Presidential.”

As good as the Japanese Alps faders are that I use for the rest of my faders, the TDKs are in a class of their own - you can see just how amazing they are and how intricately and carefully they are made - and they have the price tag to prove it!

Next time we’ll continue the saga and look at some of the other hardware on the unit, how it was sourced, and what makes it so special. Such as the 3.2” monster screen…

See you next time!

Mike
