Fader Presidential
Version 6.25 SE
Adds support for 4-character CC names instead of 3.
CC names can now include upper and lower case letters and numbers instead of just upper case letters.
New view added, “Modern Columns II”, which only shows any CC names instead of both CC numbers and names. This was at the request of a composer.
Various minor bug fixes
IMPORTANT:
With this update you MUST USE the “Special Edition” of the Scene Editor, or it will not connect or work.
You MUST do a factory reset PRIOR to this update or your unit won’t work. (Don’t panic if you forget; contact me and I’ll send you the previous firmware and you can start over.)
Most firmware updates do not require a factory reset, and I do everything I can to avoid it, but in this case it can’t be helped.
Previous Scene Editor presets or backups also WILL NOT WORK with this update - you’ll need to recreate them in the Scene Editor SE app.
Again, I try to minimize this for obvious reasons. Future updates shouldn’t do this.
Fader Micro/Premium
Version 6.11
Minor stability improvements to MIDI jitter. Code improved to reject spurious MIDI outputs.
Version 6.10
Major stability improvements throughout the entire unit through new algorithms using hysteresis - in English - we ignore internal noise that likes to cause jittery output, improving the whole experience of using the unit.
Occasional spurious MIDI output reduced greatly reduced if not eliminated entirely
Minor Bug fixes
Version 6.03
Adds support for Scene Editor app. The Scene Editor app will not work without this firmware or higher.
Bug fixes
Fader Pro/Fader Premium
Version 6.23 SE
This is a special build of the firmware at the request of a composer who wanted double the number of scenes. This update is optional, but includes the following:
16 scenes instead of 8
4-character CC names that allow for upper and lowercase letters, numbers 0-9, and spaces
Updated views that show CC numbers instead of MIDI channels
Removed are the following features:
Global CC Names
CC colors per fader
Now 7 custom color themes instead of 8
Reason for these removals: it was the only way to accommodate the request, as doubling the scenes took memory space that the removed features were using.
Important Notes for the Special Edition!
You must do a factory reset of your unit, or it will not work correctly with this special edition of the firmware. I try to minimize factory resets at all costs, but this update rearranges the EEPROM memory of the microcontroller, so previous settings would interfere with the new settings.
However, the good news is you can recreate your scenes rather quickly by using the Scene Editor app.
Additionally, you must update the Scene Editor App to version 1.1.2.1 as well if you wish to use it with this firmware. Previous versions of the app will not work correctly with this firmware update.

Version 6.22
Important updates - highly recommended for all users. Summary: major stability improvements to Scene Editor and Quick Scene Editor, as well as many small and large bug fixes.
Bug fix for reversed fader outputs. Graphic bars not displaying as expected
Bug fix for RPM x 4 View where numbers 0, 1, 2 showed blue instead of fader color
Discovered compiler error causing unexpected behavior in Space Odyssey view - caused parts of the screen to black out, parts of the dials to disappear, and in some cases crashed the unit and caused a restart. Updated compile method and issues are fixed on test units.
Scene Editor and Quick Scene Editor got a lot more love too. Many small improvements to stability of values. Often the numbers would change due to system noise, and new algorithm prevents all or most all spurious changes to any values in the editor
Quick Scene Editor - when changing scene name, alphabet values went from High to Low instead of Low to High. Changed it to Low to High (A-Z) to conform with main Scene Editor
Quick Scene Editor - fixed a bug when triple clicking to launch main Scene Editor where upon completion it would return to the Quick Scene Editor instead of moving back to the current scene.
Version 6.21
Bug Fix to the Scene Editor where changes to the Global Color Theme were not remembered properly until reboot.
Version 6.20
Several Bug fixes:
Fixed a bug when editing global CC Names where the updated name didn’t show up until rebooting the system. Now it works correctly, showing up immediately after saving changes to global CC names.
Fixed a bug in the Quick Scene Editor where the large MIDI channel number showed in the wrong place. Now it shows in the center as expected.
Fixed multiple bugs in the Scene Changer where changes to CC numbers using QuickEdit were not remembered, and the wrong scene would show after using QuickEdit, and using the Back option did not preserve changes to the CC numbers, and when launching the regular Scene Editor with a double-click, upon completion would take you into a menu instead of the current view.
Version 6.19
Fixed bugs for older Premium units:
Fixed bug in Factory Reset where unit would continuously try to perform the reset even after reboot.
Fixed bug in Device Setup that caused a crash when setting brightness within Device Setup.
Other minor bug fixes for older units.
Version 6.18
Fixed a bug in the Quick Scene Editor where you got caught in an endless loop of trying to launch the main scene editor.
Version 6.17a
Small bug fixed in the menus. When you tried to change the button color, the menu number was grayed out.
Version 6.17
Major improvements to the Quick Scene Editor and the Scene Editor.
Now custom CC colors can be applied to any color theme and not just custom color themes, and regardless if CC names are used
Massive internal changes to how fader events are detected, and handled, across the board - new upgrades improve most functions that rely on faders.
Major Bug fixes to Quick Scene Editor and the Scene Editor
This update is recommended for all units from July 2023 and later.
Version 6.12
Major overhaul of Scene Editor color system:
It’s now much easier to see what color theme is applied to a scene, or if a scene is using the global color theme
It’s much easier to change the color theme of a scene too!
The “Master View” now shows whether the scene is using the global color theme, or if it has its own theme
Numerous bug fixes
Version 6.03
This version adds support for the new Scene Editor App.
Previous versions of the FaderOS will. not work with the new app.
