Special Edition FaderOS

Hey all, after using his Fader Premium for awhile, recently a prominent composer/producer asked for some upgrades to his unit.
He wanted 16 scenes, instead of 8. Also, he wanted to have the ability to have 4-character CC names on his Fader Premium, with both upper and lower case letters and numbers, instead of the current limitation of only 3 character upper case letters. He wanted to be able to do things like:
Osc1
Fil2
This is not currently possible with existing firmware, but I’ve gone ahead and accomplished his requests with a special edition of FaderOS 6.22, called FaderOS 6.22 SE, which currently only supports Fader Premiums and Fader Pros. It is a FREE update, and is best suited for recent Fader Pros (after July 2023) and for all Fader Premiums.
The special edition brings the following upgrades to Fader Premiums and Fader Pros:
Doubles the scene count to 16 scenes instead of 8 scenes
4-character CC names, including both upper and lower case letters and numbers, instead of 3-character upper case names
Changes to views so that instead of showing the MIDI channel numbers, both the CC number and the CC names are displayed
Updates to the internal Scene Editor to support these changes
However, something had to give - if I could have just given you 16 scenes all along, I would have, but in this case, there isn’t enough memory space on the microcontroller to accommodate 16 scenes.
Therefore, the following features are sunsetted (removed) from the special edition firmware:
Global CC Names
CC Colors per Scene
Now only 7 custom color sets instead of 8
Additionally, the app has not yet been updated to accommodate these changes. I am working on a special edition of the app to accommodate these changes.
Roadmap
Eventually, the plan is to update all the firmware for all devices to have these upgrades - I don’t want to have different flavors and versions of firmware and apps out there, as it’s too confusing for everyone. So at some point these changes will come to the Fader Micro line, and the Presidential, and then again there will be just one app to rule them all.

Current app will NOT work with it correctly - you must download the updated app as well, which is listed in the link.
You will need to Factory Reset your unit - can’t be helped - so you will need to reprogram it (sorry; would avoid this if I could).
